Today between visiting the city and reading Fabio Cofferati’s book on a lawn facing the sea, I dedicated myself to studying and preparing the itinerary for next week, starting tomorrow.

As you can see on the map, I will cross Turkey more or less horizontally from west to east, for a total of about 2,000 km, so the time needed should be 7 or 8 days in total. The macro stages are: Goreme, Sivas, Erzurum, Ayvali, Kars, Igdir and then reach the border with Iran.

To spend at least the first day I will go a little on sight, I have to realize what I find outside the capital, then let’s see.

Today I have to thank Federico Valeri, an intrepid motorcycle traveler who left Italy about a month ago in the direction of Nepal, with an enduro bike. We have been messaging with Federico these days, he has just passed through Turkey and has been in Iran for a few days. The advice he gave me was invaluable, both for the journey, but also for the internet connection for which he made me install two VPN apps to be able to continue to see the internet and above all Booking, otherwise everything would be obscured.

In Iran he tells me it’s much worse, without VPN you don’t even see Google Maps.

Maybe (I hope) with Federico we will see you in Iran, he is traveling more slowly …, it would make me very happy. To follow him in his business, the main channels are Zero Highways on Facebook and ZeroHighWays also on Youtube

Today I also had Denise as a fantastic companion in preparing my trip. You see her comfortably lying on the sofa next to me, for most of the afternoon. Reminds me of someone …
